Longboat Key Roofing Increased Average Job Value 34% In 120 Days
While Expanding Beyond a Slowing Referral Market
Longboat Key Roofing had built much of its business through referrals and quality work. In the high-value communities it serves, that reputation mattered. One completed roofing project could lead to conversations with neighbors, additional visibility in the neighborhood, and future referrals.
Heading into 2026, however, that referral flow had begun to slow.
The market was also going through a difficult stretch. There had not been significant storm, high winds, or heavy rain activity to create additional roofing demand, while larger competitors with bigger marketing budgets were making it harder for smaller companies to gain ground in some areas.
Longboat Key Roofing wanted to expand farther inland and establish itself in additional communities without losing the reputation-driven approach that had helped build the business.
During the first 120 days of 2026 (January 1st to April 30th), the company closed 16 roof jobs while increasing its average roof job value from $22,500 to $30,231, a 34.4% increase.

The Challenge
Longboat Key Roofing knew there were communities where it wanted more business, but getting the first opportunities in those areas was difficult.
That mattered because the company’s growth had historically benefited from what happened after a successful roofing project was completed.
A finished roof could put the company in front of neighbors. Yard signs and wrapped vehicles could increase local visibility. Satisfied homeowners could recommend the roofer to friends and others nearby.
In referral-driven neighborhoods, getting established can create opportunities that extend beyond the original project.
The problem was getting into those communities in the first place.
At the same time, homeowners researching the company needed to see an online presence that reflected the professionalism, quality of work, and customer experience Longboat Key Roofing wanted associated with its name.
The challenge was therefore not simply to produce more inquiries. It was to help the company expand its geographic reach, compete more effectively against larger roofing businesses, and establish a stronger presence in communities capable of producing future business and referrals.
The Strategy to Increase Average Roof Job Value
Expanding Local Visibility
Local Google Maps optimization became an important part of the strategy.
The goal was to improve Longboat Key Roofing’s ability to appear when homeowners searched for roofing services in targeted areas, particularly communities farther inland where the company wanted to establish a stronger presence.
Rather than relying entirely on existing name recognition or waiting for a referral to introduce the company, local search created another way for homeowners in those markets to discover Longboat Key Roofing for repairs and leak inspections.

Building a Website That Matched the Company
The website also needed to better represent the company homeowners would actually be hiring.
Roofing REV created a more professional digital presence built around Longboat Key Roofing’s values, workmanship, specialties, and competitive strengths.
Before-and-after project photography played an important role, along with real photos of the in-house team. Prospective customers could see the quality of completed work, but they could also become familiar with the people they might be speaking with, inviting them to their home, and trusting them to work on their property.
The site also made Longboat Key Roofing’s key differentiators and areas of expertise easier to understand without relying on the same generic claims used by many roofing companies.
That was especially important when entering communities where Longboat Key Roofing did not yet have the same level of name recognition or referral history.

Supporting Referrals Rather Than Replacing Them
The strategy was never intended to replace referrals.
Referrals remained an important source of Longboat Key Roofing’s business, along with visibility generated by signage and completed projects in local neighborhoods.
Digital marketing added another layer.
Local search helped introduce the company to homeowners who may not have known it yet, while the website helped support the decision-making process once someone searched for the company after seeing a truck, yard sign, completed roof, or hearing its name from someone they trusted.
The different sources worked together rather than operating independently.

Results From the First 120 Days of 2026
During the first 120 days of 2026, Longboat Key Roofing closed 16 roof jobs that were tracked through the CRM and marketing channels managed or supported by Roofing REV.
Roofing REV tracked repair and replacement opportunities coming through channels such as the website, Google Business Profile, search and AI visibility, link-building efforts, specific social posts, and selected online profiles. Other sources that Roofing REV didn’t touch, including direct calls from social profiles, signage, existing relationships, advertisements, and some referrals, were not captured in the CRM.
To avoid overstating performance, this case study includes only the 16 closed roofing projects that could be reliably tracked through the system and Roofing REV had a hand in.
Among those tracked roof repair and replacement projects, average job value increased significantly.
The average value of those tracked roof jobs increased from $22,500 to $30,231, an improvement of $7,731 per project, or approximately 34.4%.
The result was not simply more tracked roofing activity. Longboat Key Roofing was also closing higher-value work while expanding into additional communities where future visibility and referrals could continue to build.
Building New Areas for Referrals to Grow
It needed more opportunities to put that model to work.
During the first 120 days from January 1 to April 30, 2026, the company closed 16 roof jobs while increasing its average job value by over 34%.
At the same time, Longboat Key Roofing was building greater visibility beyond its traditional referral footprint through improved local Maps presence and a website designed to better communicate the quality and professionalism behind the company.
The strategy was not to replace word of mouth with digital marketing.
It was to help Longboat Key Roofing get into more of the right communities, where strong work could create the next referral.
